"Chris
Wehba, The Henry Cooper Band".
It was about four years ago when I was visiting Los Angeles,
when I first meet Fender Museum Director, John Page. From that moment on,
I began a four year journey in the designing and the gathering of equipment
for the TLC amphitheater. Seeing the opening of the Fender Museum was quite
a thrill and having the honor of playing the museum's Art's Jam 2002 with
the Henry Cooper Band was even more so! It was great to hear a wide variety
of music styles from a number of great bands that participated in the day's
festivities. For myself and Henry Cooper, Fender instruments and amplifiers
have been a part of our sound and lives for over twenty plus years! It is
quite amazing what a profound impact music has made in my life and for as
long as I can remember, Fender has always been in every chapter of my musical
endeavors. This day was truly a celebration of music, art, and popular culture.
To think that Leo Fender, who never played an instrument in his life would
be responsible for such a major chapter of popular culture that is still growing
strong!
The
Museum is not just a place to see exhibits and live performances, but gives
back the very thing that starts up the next generation and future of musicians
the "Kids Rock Free" program. This program give's kid's an opportunity
to learn to play an instrument and further their musical horizons and knowledge.
I would like to thank everyone at the Fender Museum for allowing me to be
a part of this project and allowing me the opportunity to participate in a
piece of history that will continue to inspire and grow the future of music
and the arts!
Remember
